The house in the woods

This is a holiday house for a couple with a young child, developed on two levels. The main living spaces are located on the upper level, while provision has been made for an independent guesthouse on the lower level.

The central design idea was to position the building on the plot in such a way that it would allow full integration into the natural landscape without disrupting its relationship with the natural slope of the terrain. As a result, the house develops along the downward slope of the site; it is not immediately visible from the level of the road and takes advantage of the view, maintaining a direct relationship with the outdoor space on both levels.

The spaces are organized around an energy-efficient fireplace, which serves as the primary heating source of the house, while visual openings extend along its entire perimeter toward the view of the mountain and the small grove that borders the site.

The walls are clad with natural materials such as stone and wood, while the color palette is drawn from the surrounding landscape—the green of the olive tree and the reddish tones of the earth.
