Duality

The house was designed as a secondary residence for a family with two children, with the prospect of eventually becoming their primary home. The location of the sloping plot is particularly interesting, as to the north it offers views of the Corinthian Gulf, while at the same time it lies at the foothills of the Helmos mountain range.

We sought to take advantage of this position, and therefore the building was placed along this axis, allowing equal appreciation of both the mountain and sea views, while creating different relationships between the interior and the exterior spaces.

At the same time, a vertical axis—spatially expressed as a wall—separates the shared spaces from the private ones, introversion from extroversion.

This duality that we identified in the landscape was adopted and further developed in the design. Introversion alternates with extroversion, the mountain with the sea, luxury with simplicity, generating an environment that offers m

ultiple possibilities and experiences capable of accommodating all the needs expressed by the users.
