Golden Thread

The design of the dermatology clinic was structured around a play on words and concepts that define the philosophy of the practice, such as “prestige – selectivity – immediacy – value – specialization – safety – evolution – discretion – balance – joy – responsiveness.”

An internal promenade was created, articulated by a golden line made of gilded metal, which connects the different spaces, frames the elements encountered along the way, and generates a sense of familiarity while simultaneously emphasizing the value and seriousness of the medical service provided.

The waiting area maintains a sense of privacy while still allowing visual contact, and an installation depicting fragments of faces communicates the doctor’s specialization, surprising visitors with its directness and honesty.

The doctor’s office is designed to cultivate the duality of friendliness and prestige. A double-sided furniture element, clad in mosaic tiles, gently separates the main office from the examination room.

The interventions did not alter the fundamental elements of the apartment, such as the walls and floors, thus preserving the memory and original quality of the space, which was designed in 1954 by the architect N. Valsamakis.
