Sea Transportation
The offices are located on the 4th floor of a glass office building on Poseidonos Avenue, offering unobstructed views of the Athenian Riviera. The space is an open-plan office of 186.70 sq.m., with two of its four facades fully glazed.
The central concept was developed around the phrase “That means Business.” The goal was to create a spatial experience that non-verbally communicates a sense of security and trust to visitors, while simultaneously placing them in a VIP environment that conveys prestige and creativity.
Light color tones, wood cladding, marble furnishings, a site-specific artwork that interacts with the space, and an exposed concrete ceiling are the elements that shape the atmosphere, creating subtle tensions between luxury and an industrial aesthetic.
The office is divided into main and auxiliary areas, defined through material choices. The main areas are unified by the exposed concrete ceiling, while being softened with white velvet curtains that extend from ceiling to floor. In contrast, the auxiliary spaces for relaxation and breaks are sculpted within a “wooden universe.” Wood evokes calmness and expresses a sense of familiarity and care for the people who make up the company.
Upon entering, a semi-transparent boundary formed by a woven metal curtain guides visitors toward the reception area. The reception desk—custom-made from curved Dionysos marble and internally illuminated—acts as the company’s core and is positioned on a wooden platform.
Two glass volumes—the meeting room and the CEO’s office—are placed at the center and edge of the open-plan layout, dividing the workstations into two sections. These volumes, constructed from sliding glass panels, can either integrate with the open space or become fully enclosed, both acoustically and visually.
Along the entire length of the solid wall, from the entrance to the sea-facing side, a 15-meter-long artwork by artist Giannis Selimiotis unfolds, transitioning between color palettes inspired by the company’s logo.
The Sea Transportation offices redefine the concept of the workplace, creating a multifunctional environment that radiates prestige and creativity, while realizing the original intention of forming a “business core” whose activities extend into the sea.
