Description

Τhis is an apartment with an area of 100 square meters in the Kastella area of Piraeus. The apartment was renovated to become the main residence of a couple while maintaining its three bedrooms for guest accommodation.

The residents’ primary desire was to unify the common areas—entrance, living room, dining room, and kitchen—while keeping the color palette in soft, pastel shades. Emphasis was placed on the relationship between the chosen materials. The warmth of the wood, preserved in the rooms and living room, interacts with the cleanliness of the industrial flooring in a sand color that connects the kitchen with the hallway. The kitchen, recessed to the right of the entrance, retains its autonomy while remaining in close connection with the main area of the house. It has ample natural light and various sources of artificial lighting, which, combined with the white color of the materials and the pastel shade of the tiles, create a friendly atmosphere for the user.

The living room and dining area are laid out along and parallel to the balcony doors. The large hallway mirror with hidden lighting unifies the space and reflects natural light.

Finally, the bathroom was designed with a built-in countertop in the same sand shades to maintain the sense of continuity, and a large mirror was installed to give the impression of an expanded space.
